Otunba Opeyemi Olukayode Agbaje is the Founder/Chairman and CEO of RTC Advisory Services Ltd. He founded RTC Advisory Services Ltd, a leading strategy, policy and economy, and business advisory firm in 2004 after a successful career in banking and financial services. He is also Chairman of Stairways Communications and Advocacy Ltd and The Opeyemi Agbaje Institute Ltd/Gte.

Otunba Agbaje was born in Ijebu-Ode in 1965 to Sagamu, Remo parents and attended Igbobi College Yaba, Lagos and the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife where he obtained LLB Hons in Law in 1985. He attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos from 1985 to 1986 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986. He also obtained a Masters Degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Lagos in 1989 and an MBA from IESE Business School, Spain in 1997.

Otunba Opeyemi Agbaje commenced his professional career in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in then Bendel State from 1986 to 1987 before serving as Counsel in the law firm of Kola Awodein SAN and Co. in Lagos. He joined the banking sector in 1989 working as a Legal Officer in First Bank of Nigeria Plc; before joining GTBank in November 1990 rising from Banking Officer to Assistant General Manager by 1998. He also worked briefly in Oceanic Bank (now Ecobank) and then Metropolitan Bank Ltd. He voluntarily left the banking industry in June 2004 as an Executive Director.

Opeyemi Agbaje joined the faculty of the Lagos Business School as Senior Fellow in Strategy and Business Environment and later as Head of Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship. He was a Director of Chemical and Allied Products Plc from 2009 to 2019; Trustee of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund from 2011 to 2019; and Chairman of the Convention on Business Integrity. He worked in government as Executive Secretary/CEO of the Ogun State Security Trust Fund from 2019 to 2021 and voluntarily resigned after a very successful two-year tenure.

Otunba Agbaje holds the merit award of the Igbobi College Old Boys Association for professional excellence and the Gathering of Africa’s Best (GAB)Award for excellence in consultancy services presented in London, UK in 2013. He is a Honourary Senior Fellow (HSF) of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria (CIBN) and member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association and Institute of Directors, Nigeria. He is a member of the Global Strategic Management Society USA and served for two years as Representative for Africa of its Strategy Practice Interest Group.

Otunba Opeyemi Agbaje is the Otunba Babagbimo of Ogijo, Remo and Baba Egbe of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu. He is a member and former Secretary General of The Sagamites Club of Sagamu; member of The Collectives of Remo and Egbe Jagunmolu Fehintade Okunrin Akile Ijebu. He is a Patron of The Great Remo Chorale and is the Chairman of AFENIFERE in Ogun State.

Otunba Opeyemi Agbaje, a highly respected national commentator on economy, policy and national development, participated in politics between 2016 and 2018 as a governorship aspirant of the Social Democratic Party and Leader of the Oseese Organisation. He wrote an authoritative national column in Businessday Newspaper from 2006 to 2019 and is a member of the newspaper’s Editorial Advisory Board. He was Host and Executive Producer of “The Policy Council” a TV programme focused on improving policy and economy aired on Channels TV and BEN TV London from 2012 to 2015.

He is married to Yeye Oluwatoyin Opeyemi-Agbaje, a Pharmacist with children.
